What consumer surveys have been done on Akkermansia?
In a consumer study of 172 people taking Akkermansia over 12 weeks of product use, 82% reported improved bowel movements, 77% reported improved GI/gut health, 71% reported reduced occasional gas & bloating, and 67% reported reduced diarrhea. In a separate consumer study of 86 people taking Akkermansia for 3 months, 91% reported reduced overall food cravings and 86% reported reduced sugar cravings.

Is Akkermansia safe?
Akkermansia contains Akkermansia muciniphila, a beneficial bacterial strain naturally found in the human gut of people with healthy microbiomes. Akkermansia muciniphila has undergone extensive safety studies and found to be safe.

Can or should I take Akkermansia if I’m pregnant?
Akkermansia contains a beneficial bacterial strain that exists within the gut microbiome of healthy people, including during pregnancy. To date, Akkermansia has not been studied in women who are either pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Please consult with your healthcare provider to see if this product may be a good fit for you.

Are there any side effects of taking Akkermansia?
When starting any new probiotic such as Akkermansia, there can be an adjustment period. You may experience some gastrointestinal symptoms (increased gas, bloating, nausea, or loose stools) that usually resolve over the initial 14 days or with discontinuation of the product. If you experience symptoms that are severe or do not resolve, please consult your healthcare provider.

How long should Akkermansia be taken?
Akkermansia is a daily supplement and can be taken for as long as you experience benefits.

Should someone lower their dose after taking for 60, 90, 180 days?

Can I travel with Akkermansia?
You can travel with Akkermansia. Just toss your bottle in your bag and once you reach your destination, put it in the fridge if possible. Refrigeration is best though not required.
