ADA Lowers Recommended Age for Type 2 Diabetes Screening to 35
Given the increasing incidence of Type 2 diabetes across the country, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) has adjusted its screening threshold.

The old guidelines suggest screening for everyone starting at age 45

This year, the ADA recommends screening everyone starting at the age of 35 using either:

An A1C test
-
A fasting plasma glucose, or
-
An oral glucose tolerance test
